About Nona…
When I was a little girl I lived in the depths of the Kent countryside on a farm with my siblings, my working parents and numerous animals we rescued or took in.
Mum was a nurse and Dad, a dairy farmer – and both worked odd hours.
With my siblings being a little older than me and able to fend more for themselves, but not old enough to take care of me, I spent a LOT of time with my Nana – Grandad was a policeman in South London where they lived so not always around for the ‘best bits’ .
My nana was an amazing woman, she always had fun things to do, and we always had an adventure together (sometimes with my little cousin LJ coming along too) whether that was on the farm, or at her immaculate terraced home – even walking her blind old dog was one of the best things in the world.
So, when I had my children and eventually my grandchildren, I wanted to create the same world for them.
A world of fun, adventure, creativity, and education – and trust me it is much easier to go on adventures with grandchildren when you are not worrying about all the other things that raising your own family incurs.
Thank you Nana, your legacy lives on!
Now I live with Bobo in a little witchy cottage in the rural heart of Suffolk, with our dog Dante and our three cats – Birdie, Mousie and Mynx. We have two gorgeous granddaughters and who we take on adventures both ‘At Nona’s House’ where we do crafts and baking and things and also out in the big wide world where we explore the countryside, have treats in coffee shops and all other kinds of fun things.
This is my way of showing other Nona’s (Grandmothers) or Bobo’s (Grandfathers) some ideas of what we get up to, hopefully giving you some ideas on the way. If you would like to share your adventures and ideas please email us: nona@thenonadiaries.co.uk
Enjoy!
